Titan Tango
PLAY FREE: titantango.netlify.app
Open it on the TV. Everyone scans the code with their phone. That is the controller. No app, no account.
Titan Tango is a party fighting game where the song is the fight. Pick a track and the game reads the beat. Robots trade slams, hooks and jabs, and every punch lands on the beat because the beat is where the punches come from. When a note hits the line, tap slam, hook or jab on your phone (or turn on swing mode and actually swing it). Nail it and the other robot eats it. Miss and you eat it.
Everyone else in the room is the crowd. They scan in, cheer to fill the surge meter and vote on what happens next: which pen draws the page, which trap drops on the fighters.
Four ways to play
versus: one on one, three rounds
free for all: three or four of you, everyone punches the worst
party tournament: three songs, the last one counts triple
coop boss: all of you against THE METRONOME
The whole thing is drawn in ballpoint on a notebook page, live, in code. It boils, it smudges, the title misspells itself and scratches out the mistake. Power ups wipe the page into comic, blueprint, chalk, crayon or 8 bit, and the robots get redrawn to match.
The music
Every song in the game is mine or my band's: Birthright, my own songs, and my instrumentals.
Who made this
I am Zack Kronish, a musician from South Jersey. I play in Birthright. I wanted a game night game where my friends fight to my songs, so I made one.
No phones handy? Press K to play on the keyboard, or B for a bot.
One on one versus is free, with two phones in the crowd. A one time Host Pass on the TV opens four fighters (free for all, tournament, coop boss) and a crowd of 100. There are also outfit packs for the robots. Nothing you can buy makes you win, and nobody ever pays to join a room.
